"Warm Up" at MoMA PS1 and Woodbines
The official start of summer may not be until June 20th, but here in Long Island City the celebration has already begun. From LIC Springs to the 11th Annual Taste of LIC, we’ve been out enjoying the sunny weather for weeks now. But the real kickoff of our favorite season is marked every year with MoMA PS1’s Warm Up 2016 outdoor music series. Every June through late August for the past 19 years, something truly amazing has happened in our neighborhood. We have the wonderful opportunity to see both local and international DJ’s and musical artists right on our doorstep at 22-25 Jackson Avenue.

Where to Go Before and After
Woodbines is just around the corner from MoMA PS1 at 47-10 Vernon Boulevard. Come in before the show for brunch, from 11-4 PM, and have $6 Bloody Mary & Mimosa cocktails with $3 refills. Stop by after the party and tell us how it was! Our kitchen is open until 2 AM on Saturdays and we have a late-night Happy Hour from 11-Close. Get select $5 draft beers, well liquors, and house wines.
What You’ll See
The weekly music series is curated by a special committee selected by the museum. Their goal is to reflect a range of experimental music and performing arts. Although subject to change, you can view the current lineup HERE.
The courtyard itself will feature a special installation from Mexico City architecture firm Escobedo Soliz Studio. The design won the 17th annual Young Architects Program.
How to Attend
Warm Up takes place every Saturday from June 11th to August 27th in the PS1 courtyard. The official start time is 3 PM but the doors open at noon. You can get tickets in advance HERE for just $22 or buy them day-of for $25.
If you join MoMA PS1+ you can get discounted tickets for the Warm Up series as well as lots of other perks like conversations with curators, unlimited museum admission, and private exhibition viewings.
There are also a certain number of tickets reserved each week for residents of LIC!
