Hudson Whiskey Dinner Pairing at Woodbines

Whiskey and food; two of our very favorite things here at Woodbines. And, on August 16th we get to celebrate (read: stuff our faces with) them both during a truly one-of-a-kind event. We’re partnering with Hudson Whiskey to bring you a delicious meal where each of the four courses will feature one of Hudson’s singular spirits. Each pairing was carefully chosen by our head chef and a Hudson representative to compliment each other perfectly.
The event kicks off at 6:30 and lasts for two hours. Advance tickets are $65 but are expected to sell out fast as the day approaches. For those commitment-phobes out there, any available day-of tickets will be $75. Prices include both tax and gratuity. Please call Woodbines at 718-361-8488 to reserve your space today.

The History of Hudson
Hudson’s story is really interesting. Turns out, making whiskey wasn’t their original aim when they purchased the Tuthilltown Gristmill in Gardiner, New York. It wasn’t even close to their original plan actually. They wanted to open a rock climber’s ranch (!) but ran into some trouble with the neighbors. So, they considered the landscape and the history of the site and decided to start up what would be the first distillery in New York since prohibition! It’s a common misconception that all bourbon must be made in Kentucky. While most are, it’s not a requirement. Hudson is among a growing number of craft distilleries doing the rest of America proud.
Baby Bourbon, Adult Taste
You may have seen Hudson’s signature spirit, the Baby Bourbon, on the shelves at Woodbines in its unusually small bottle. This bourbon has the honor of being the very first whiskey aged in New York since Prohibition. They source their ingredients locally, including the base of the Baby Bourbon, which is made from corn found just 10 miles away. Their whiskeys have won multiple awards, including the Double Gold Medal in the Small Batch Class at the 2011 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. They were also named the “Best Artisan Distiller of 2010” by the American Distilling Institute, not that you needed another reason to come check them out at Woodbines on the 16th.
